If you like your blues with grit, your rock with swagger and your live music with a bit of theatre, The Recliner Rockers are a band you’ll want to see.
These guys have been tearing up stages around New Zealand for more than 20 years, becoming firm favourites at Whangamata Beach Hop, hot rod shows, blues festivals and live music venues across the country. Their sound sits somewhere between blues, rockabilly and roots rock - but it’s the live show that has built their reputation.
Expect blistering guitar, bluesy vocals, smoky sax, a seriously driving rhythm section and some fairly outrageous double-bass antics. They mix their own original material with carefully chosen covers influenced by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Stray Cats, George Thorogood, Johnny Cash and Elvis.
This isn't background music. It's proper live-band stuff - loud, energetic, hugely entertaining and made for a Saturday night.
